Early to rise.
Weekly foundation practices help you get back into your body so you can source the wisdom and support that’s available to you there. They are designed to be easy to action and accessible to all bodies.
What can you do when you first wake up to make rising feel good?
Practice: Early To Rise
For 1 minute a day—when you first wake up—I want you to do something that makes rising feel good. This isn’t about doing what you think “should” feel good. It’s about doing something that you could see yourself looking forward to most mornings.
You might allow yourself to lie still in bed and breathe deeply.
You might get up and do some gentle stretches.
You might put on music and dance to it or just lie there and listen.
You might meditate.
You might spend some time playing with or cuddling a pet.
You might make yourself a hot drink and sit staring into the middle distance.
You might slowly walk around to check in with your plant babies.
You might play an instrument.
You might switch it up every morning so you have something new to look forward to.
Before starting this practice, take a deep inhale and anticipate the simple pleasure you’re about to experience. Notice how that feels in your body. Exhale and begin.
