Weekly foundation practices help you get back into your body so you can source the wisdom and support that’s available to you there. They are designed to be easy to action and accessible to all bodies.
How can you move your body to reflect your inner world?
Practice: Mirror Mirror
For 5 minutes a day, I want you to move your body in a way that mirrors what’s happening for you internally cognitively, emotionally, and/or spiritually. For this practice, you just need a timer and yourself.
Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Use dance, freestyle movement, running, walking, jumping, stretching, yoga, or any other way of moving to make the internal, external.
Keep moving until your timer goes off.
Let your movements evolve as your inner world shifts.
When the timer goes off, get still wherever you are and take a few deep inhales and long exhales. Note what’s going on for you internally now.
Move into the rest of your day.
Before starting this practice, take a deep inhale and observe what’s happening in your inner world. Notice what you’re thinking and feeling. Exhale and begin the practice.
