Space to feel.
Weekly foundation practices help you get back into your body so you can source the wisdom and support that’s available to you there. They are designed to be easy to action and accessible to all bodies.
What helps you to feel and name your emotions?
Practice: Space To Feel
For 1 minute a day, I want you to give yourself more space to feel your emotions. For this practice all you need is yourself.
When you feel an emotion bubbling up, stop what you’re doing and breathe with it.
Keep your body open. Shoulders down and back; jaw relaxed; belly soft.
After a few deep breaths, try and name the emotion that you’re feeling.
Continue to breathe with whatever that feeling you just named is.
When the minute is up, exhale through the mouth and move back into your day.
Before starting this practice, take a deep inhale. Allow your body to be still. Place a hand on your heart and a hand on your belly. If it feels more supportive, lie down on the floor. Exhale and begin the practice.
